Josiah became king at only 8 years old.
Young. Inexperienced. Surrounded by a spiritually messy kingdom.

For years the temple had been neglected and the Word of God was basically lost in the dust — literally.

When the Book of the Law was finally found and read aloud, everything shifted.

Josiah didn’t say:
“Oh that’s nice.”
“Oh we’ll fix that later.”
“Oh that was for back then.”

Nope.

The Word cut him so deeply he tore his clothes in grief.

He realized:

• The nation was out of order

• Worship was corrupted

• God had been ignored for generations

One reading of Scripture exposed everything.

That Bible didn’t just get opened — it got activated.

💭 Devotional Reflection (The Lesson)

Some people hear the Word.
Some people admire the Word.
Some people quote the Word.

Josiah let the Word correct him.

2 Timothy 3:16 came alive in him:

• It taught him

• It rebuked him

• It corrected him

• It trained him

Hebrews 4:12 pierced him:

• It exposed hidden disobedience

• It revealed spiritual drift

• It cut straight to the heart

And instead of resisting conviction, Josiah surrendered to it.

He didn’t just repent privately — he led reform publicly.

The Word didn’t just change him.
It changed the culture around him.

When you read the Word of God, it starts changing you and changing the way you see yourself. The Bible corrects us and guides us on our journey, because the only way to make it through is to partner up with God. 

We all have started off reading the Bible and instantly fell asleep, well it’s probably just me-Or that time you read the Bible but didn’t understand a thing you were reading 😅 yep that was me too, but I kept on reading. He already knows that we’re flawed and messed up, He just wants a relationship with us.
